We serve as a bridge to additional support services.
We conduct Critical Incident Stress Debriefings (CISDs).
What We Are Not
Department managers
Spies or informants
Clinical professionals
Confidentiality
Trust in the peer support program relies on strict confidentiality. We are committed to:
Keeping members’ identities and personal information private.
Avoiding gossip—peer support conversations stay between those involved.
When Confidentiality May Be Broken
Confidentiality will only be breached in the following circumstances:
The individual gives explicit consent to share information.
There is an immediate threat to self or others.
We are legally required to report (mandated reporting).
Mandated Reporting Duties: Being legally obligated to report specific incidents or concerns to authorities. This usually includes:
Child Abuse or Neglect: Reporting any suspected or confirmed instances of child abuse or neglect.
Elder Abuse: Reporting any suspected or confirmed instances of elder abuse.
Threats of Harm: Reporting threats of serious harm to oneself or others, which may include suicidal ideation or plans, and threats of violence.
